Save A Lot files defamation lawsuit against unknown person

St. Ann-based supermarket chain Save A Lot has filed a defamation lawsuit against an unknown person.

Named as “John Doe” in the lawsuit, the person whose identity has not been uncovered allegedly emailed Save A Lot's business partners false information. The suit alleges damage to the company's reputation and that the emails attempted to convince partners to breach their contracts with the grocery chain.

The lawsuit alleges the defendant, who made the emails under the name Ken Thomas, cost the company millions of dollars in losses.
