SATIRE: Lego releases Hammons Tower set

The long wait is over for Springfield Lego fans – a Hammons Tower set is slated to debut in May.

Fair City News reports the 1,929-piece set was designed by Springfield native Matt Plither and submitted via Lego's fan website, Lego Cuusoo.

The site allows users to submit ideas for Lego products to be turned into potential sets available commercially, with the original designer receiving 1 percent of the royalties. Cuusoo roughly means wish in Japanese.

FCN reports Plither will soon unveil Lego plans for Hammons Field, Juanita K. Hammons Hall For the Performing Arts and JQH Arena on the campus of Missouri State University. A John Q. Hammons minifig is also rumored to be in production.

The Hammons Tower set will retail for $189.99.
