SATIRE: Downscale housing development announced for Springfield

Posted online
Not to be outdone by exclusive, upscale residential developments cropping up on the outskirts of Springfield, a local developer has broken ground on a new, but not-so-country-club-atmosphere neighborhood.

The Fair City News reports the Gulleys at Ferrell Hog has entered its first phase of development.

To be built on 50 acres of land adjacent to the runway at Springfield-Branson National Airport, the Gulleys would include sewer and electric for 200 single-wide moible homes, with room for an additional 50 prefabricated modular homes.

No word yet on whether the developer will seek tax abatements.
