Sanofi and GlaxoSmithKline announced a setback on their COVID-19 vaccine.
Company officials said the vaccine release has been pushed back to mid-2021 or the fourth quarter next year.
“The results of the study are not as we hoped," said Roger Connor, president of GSK Vaccines. "Our aim now is to work closely with our partner Sanofi to develop this vaccine, with an improved antigen formulation, for it to make a meaningful contribution to preventing COVID-19.”
