Where one sandwich shop has closed, another is taking its place in downtown Springfield.
The Almighty Sando Shop announced in a Facebook post yesterday that a March opening is planned at 208 W. McDaniel St. The Sandwich Scene closed at that location last month.
"The Almighty Sando Shop is leveling up," the post reads. "This journey wouldn’t be possible without you, and we cannot wait to welcome you into our new home and see those smiling faces!"
The post indicates The Sandwich Scene owner Mack Musgrave approached The Almighty Sando Shop about the opportunity after the latter business announced its food truck would be closing. The Almighty Sando Shop, in business since 2021, recently listed its food truck for sale.
The Almighty Sando Shop’s plans for the downtown space include an upstairs seating area and an expanded vegan menu.
