Samsung told to stop copying iPhone

After a years-long court battle, Apple won a ruling against Samsung. But it may not matter.

The 2-1 decision in a federal appeals court in Washington ordered Samsung to remove slide-to-unlock, autocorrect and quick link software that directly mimic Apple's similar features on the iPhone.

However, the ruling comes long after Samsung changed the way those features work. On Galaxy phones, for example, users don't need to slide a button to unlock the phone - they just have to swipe their finger anywhere on the screen. Samsung's keyboard has also been updated several times.

Apple first filed suit in February 2012.
