Samsung posts huge profits as Note 7 crisis fades

Following the Galaxy Note 7 controversy, Samsung is pulling in massive profits.

The company today reported a 50 percent increase in quarterly earnings to $7.9 billion, its highest level in three years.

The increase came despite a $5 billion profit hit the company took to kill off the fire-prone Note 7 phones.
