Samsung halts production of Galaxy Note 7 phone

Samsung is halting production of its embattled Galaxy Note 7 smartphone over fears that even replacement versions of the device can burst into flames.

The company recalled 2.5 million of the devices worldwide last month, citing faulty batteries causing the phones to overheat and catch fire.

It's unclear how long production will be suspended.
