Samsung considers restructuring

Samsung Electronics announced Tuesday it's considering a restructuring move that would split the company.

In a news release, company officials said they would take the next six months to consider whether to create a holding company and weigh the benefits of listing on more international exchanges.

The move could be a windfall for investors, according to analysts. Restructuring could unlock 750,000 won ($651) per share, according to a Bernstein Research report.
