Samsung Chairman Lee Kun-hee was in stable condition Sunday after suffering a heart attack, Korea’s Yonhap news agency reported.
According to USA Today, Lee, 72, received cardiopulmonary resuscitation at a hospital near his home in central Seoul. He was transferred to a Samsung medical center, where he underwent a procedure that involved inserting a stent to widen blood vessels and prevent additional damage.
Lee leads Samsung Group, Asia’s top telecom giant. During his tenure, Samsung has become the world’s largest manufacturer of smartphones, televisions, memory chips and related technology.
