Sam's Southern Eatery, a Cajun and Creole restaurant operating on the north side, is expanding with a second Springfield restaurant.
The restaurant announced on its Facebook page that it would open a location at 2259 S. Campbell Ave in the Camelot Shopping Center.
"Thank you Springfield for giving us four wonderful years and many more to come," the post reads.
In the comments of the post, a May opening date was estimated. Officials with the restaurant could not be reached for comment by deadline.
The menu of Sam's Southern Eatery includes seafood, chicken, sandwiches and burgers.
The Springfield News-Leader, which was first to report on the plans, indicated Sam's Southern Eatery is taking on space previously occupied by DiGiacinto Italian Restaurant, which closed amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Utah-based gourmet cookie chain Crumbl Cookies opened its first Springfield shop; interior design business Branson Upstaging LLC relocated; and Lauren Ashley Dance Center LLC added a second location.
