Sam's Rams jersey is No. 2 seller after draft

Former Missouri Tigers’ defensive end Michael Sam might have been the 249th pick of the National Football League draft, but one would never know it based on jersey sales.

According to the Associated Press, Sam’s jersey is the second hottest selling jersey among rookies on NFLShop.com. Quarterback Johnny Manziel’s is the top seller. No. 1 overall pick Jadeveon Clowney has amassed the third most jersey sales among new rookies.

On Saturday, Sam – who was named the Southeastern Conference’s Defensive Player of the Year earlier this year – became the first openly gay player to be drafted into the NFL.
