According to a news release, the two groups have joined to endorse environmentally friendly building in the Ozarks, including methods to decrease energy use and waste products during construction and to improve the quality of air, water and vegetation.
As part of its partnership, Salute to Construction also will make efforts this year to spread the message about how the ReStore helps reduce solid waste by accepting donations of usable surplus building materials and reselling them to the public.
All proceeds from the ReStore, the financial arm of the Habitat for Humanity Springfield affiliate, goes toward Habitat home-building projects in Greene County.
Salute to Construction is a council of representatives from more than 20 nonprofit organizations that focus on development in southwest Missouri.
