Safari users suffer crashes

Having problems with Apple's Safari Web browser? It's not just you.

Widespread reports indicate users of browser are experiencing crashes when they carry out a search via its address bar.

The bug has been reported both on mobile devices and Mac computers.

Apple did not respond to BBC News' request for comment. A temporary fix for the problem is to disable the "search engine suggestions" option in Safari's preferences or activate the private mode.
