Saddlebrooke bookkeeper arrested for theft

Posted online
A former bookkeeper for Saddlebrooke development community is being held on $25,000 bail after her arrest for allegedly stealing $23,371 from her employers.

Larita J. Grand, 51, was taken into custody Oct. 5 for felony stealing from Saddlebrooke West Inc., Lorance Realty & Leasing and CBT Investments LLC.

The thefts occurred between May 13 and Aug. 17, during which she reportedly wrote checks to herself from her employers, forged the necessary signatures and deposited the money into her own accounts.

Clyde Lorance, a Realtor with Lorance Realty, reported the missing money to the Christian County Sheriff’s Department after an audit was conducted by Roberts-McKenzie-Mangan & Cummings PC in Springfield.

Grand’s hearing is scheduled for Oct. 11.
