Ruth Bader Ginsburg dies at 87

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg died Friday from complications of metastatic pancreatic cancer. She was 87.

The second woman to serve on the Supreme Court, Ginsburg was an advocate for women’s rights. Her advocacy against gender discrimination was among her highlights as a justice.

Ginsburg's death sets up a tussle in Washington, D.C., over her successor amid a fervent election year.
