Royals’ attendance gain best in 10 years among top pro teams

2015 capped off a record year in attendance for the Kansas City Royals, and it marked a decade of significant improvement for the organization.

In fact, according to website 247WallSt.com, the Royals’ turnaround between 2005 and 2015 was the greatest among any team during that time frame among all organizations in the NFL, NBA, NHL and Major League Baseball.

Kansas City’s average home-game attendance in 2005 – a year when the team lost 106 games – was 17,356. Last year, it was 33,438, which is a 92.7 percent increase.

No. 2 on the list was the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals, which saw its attendance increase 69.2 percent over the past decade.
