Royal Bank of Scotland names first female CEO

The Royal Bank of Scotland became the first of the United Kingdom's four biggest banks to hire a female CEO.

Alison Rose, a 27-year veteran at the company, is scheduled to take over for Ross McEwan, who's leaving to become CEO of National Australia Bank.

Rose currently leads RBS' commercial and private banking division.
