Matt and Tegan Elliott, local and active business owners of the community, opened their second business, Route Three Storage. After running Elliott Painting successfully for over 22 years, the Elliott’s invested in a climate-controlled storage facility. A desire to use the land they owned while recognizing a need for storage motivated them to build this brand-new facility. They completed construction in November, and Route Three Storage opened a month later in Ozark, Missouri. Family-owned and operated, Route Three Storage is easy to work with and accommodating.

“We have a different mindset with this than with our other business. Route Three Storage is a long-term investment. It will be sustainable and low maintenance on the management side since my wife and I own and operate it,” Elliott said.

Route Three Storage has opted for a practical “Move-in Special” for new clients. Focusing on great customer service and ease, Route Three Storage will move a new client from one facility to theirs free of charge. Speaking of ease, this new facility is all under one roof, in one building, and on one level, making it easy to get in and out. The big difference is the convenience of not having to load belongings into an elevator and move them up two to three stories to store them. The keycard system is similar to that of a hotel, and the lights come on automatically upon access.

“We are selling convenience, a brand-new facility with climate control and good customer service. We make it painless to move in,” Elliott said.

Elliott researched for months before deciding to build these units. He found that in Springfield and the surrounding areas, climate-controlled storage has limited availability. There are currently forty units available at Route Three Storage, and Elliott plans to be 80% to 85% full in the next six months. The business plan for Route Three Storage after that point will be to retain clients by providing great customer service and accommodating clients’ wants and needs.

“Having owned a business in the community for over 22 years with my wife, who has also worked in retail, we understand the importance of good customer service,” Elliott said. From antiques and family heirlooms to boxes full of documents, this climate-controlled facility will store them all in a brand-new unit where the owners are the managers and will work directly with clients.
