Rolling Stone settles rape story suit for $1.65M

Rolling Stone agreed to pay a University of Virginia fraternity $1.65 million.

The sum settles a suit brought on by the school's Phi Kappa Psi fraternity after the magazine published an article about an alleged on-campus gang rape. Police later found no evidence to back up the alleged rape.

The article, written by Sabrina Rubin Erdely, was retracted in April 2015.
