Project description: The 36,000-square-foot headquarters of the Rolling Hills Library system is designed to feature teen and children’s areas, a story house, a maker space and an independent bookstore. Inspired by the area’s loess prairies, project officials say the design includes natural materials, walking trails, a retention pond and Prairie-style architecture. High ceilings and hearth seating are intended to foster a feeling of openness and comfort.
