Rock ‘n Ribs festival scheduled for Saturday

Posted online
The Rotary Clubs of Springfield will present its annual Rock ‘n Ribs BBQ Festival Saturday with hopes of surpassing last year’s proceeds of $70,000.

The seventh annual event will be held 9:30 a.m.–10:30 p.m. in the south parking lot at Bass Pro Shops, 1935 S. Campbell Ave.

Proceeds from the event will go to local children’s agencies, including Boys & Girls Town of Missouri, Ronald McDonald House Charities-Care Mobile and Good Samaritan Boys Ranch. Since its inception, the event has raised $230,000.

More than 50 barbeque teams will be on site for a competitive cook-off, officially sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society.

Entertainment will be provided by the Missouri State University Lady Bears, Rock N ‘Y play zone and American National Property and Casual Co.’s Fabulous Motorcycles. Local bands What’s Next?, Trip Wire and Lost Highway will perform live music throughout the day.[[In-content Ad]]
