The Rotary Clubs of Springfield distributed $130,000 on Aug. 4 at Bass Pro Shops to local nonprofit agencies. Proceeds from the annual Rock ‘n Ribs BBQ Festival in April went to seven charities: Boys and Girls Town of Missouri; Ronald McDonald House Charities Tooth Truck; Ozark Trails Council of Boy Scouts of America; Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks; Good Samaritan Boys Ranch; Ozarks Regional YMCA; and Developmental Center of the Ozarks. About 24,000 people attended the 2007 festival.
