Robinhood Markets Inc. is removing digital confetti from its trading app.
The digital confetti, which shows up on users’ screens to celebrate milestones like making a first trade, has come under fire for allegedly gamifying investing.
“The confetti is getting really misconstrued, and I think it’s actually doing the opposite of what we want,” said Madhu Muthukumar, senior director of product management at Robinhood.
