The Riverview Gardens School District in St. Louis is cutting 97 positions.
The decision impacts administrators, safety officers and more, though not all of the roles are currently filled.
District officials say they have a $23 million operating deficit. They cited the need for a balanced budget that was bloated by pandemic relief, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
