Rite Aid has agreed to a five-year ban on the use of facial recognition technology.
The Federal Trade Commission reportedly found the company has falsely accused customers of crimes and unfairly targeted people of color.
Rite Aid officials said that while the company is “pleased to reach an agreement” with the FTC, “we fundamentally disagree with the facial recognition allegations in the agency’s complaint."
