A group of 12 companies will be recognized as the 2012 Choice Employers, based on survey results verified by Ollis & Co. Springfield Business Journal’s Choice Employers awards honor companies based on their responses to questions about workplace benefits in the areas of incentives, family-friendliness, people development and corporate culture.

Joining the lineup this year are three individual award categories, in which a total of nine area professionals were chosen for recognition by an independent panel of judges.

All 21 honorees will be celebrated at a reception and awards ceremony in November, and company rankings in four size categories will be announced.

The company award finalists, in alphabetical order, are:
  • GeoEngineers Inc., GHN Architects/Engineers and Springfield Paper Co., in the 5-to-24 employees category;
  • KPM CPAs PC, Olsson Associates Inc. and UMB Bank, in the 25-to-100 employees category;
  • Commerce Bank, Guaranty Bank and McKesson Corp., in the 101-to-300 employees category; and
  • CoxHealth, Drury University and Mercy-Springfield, in the 301-plus employees category.
