Posted online
Four restaurants were named Best of Fest winners last weekend at the eighth annual Taste of Springfield downtown.

During the Oct. 4 event on Park Central Square, 16 locally owned and operated restaurants competed for honors in four categories: Best Appetizer, Best Entree, Best Dessert and Best Booth. Winners were selected by event attendees, according to an Urban Districts Alliance news release.

The Best of Fest winners were:
  • Best Appetizer: That Lebanese Place for its falafel and hummus;
  • Best Entree: Cafe Cusco for its black bean quinoa sliders;
  • Best Dessert: The Cup for its pumpkin harvest cupcake; and
  • Best Booth: Dublin's Pass Irish Pub.
UDA spokeswoman Sarah Hough said an estimated 7,500 people attended the outdoor event.
