Restaurants face ketchup shortage

As the pandemic turned many sit-down restaurants into takeout operations, the need for ketchup packages also rose.

Now, restaurants are struggling to maintain enough supply to meet the demand, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Restaurant chains such as Long John Silver's are among those working with secondary suppliers because of the shortage. Packet prices reportedly are up 13% since January 2020.
