Restaurant Brands tops quarterly estimates

Restaurant Brands International reported better-than-expected earnings and revenue on larger sales growth at Tim Hortons and Burger King.

The company's adjusted earnings were 75 cents, compared with analysts' expectations of 64 cents per share.

Revenue of $1.59 billion topped the $1.56 billion figure analysts were expecting.
