Residents in central US cities asked to conserve water

Some cities in the Midwest and Great Plains are asking residents to conserve water amid a drought-filled summer.

An example of a restriction is in Guthrie, Oklahoma, where the community pool has been closed for the summer to limit water usage.

Parts of Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Iowa are facing extreme drought conditions, according to federal data.
