Completion date: May

Susie Cornell of Decorating Den Interiors was asked to update the look of the living area in a ranch-style home built about 30 years ago. The room was transformed from traditional carpet, and one-inch plastic blinds to a cleaner, more contemporary look, Cornell said. The mantel was removed, and the fireplace insert was replaced with a gas fireplace. The natural slate chosen to go floor-to-ceiling around the fireplace determined the color palette of teal, gold, brown and copper. The carpet also was removed and the hardwood floors now go all the way to the slate in front of the fireplace. An area rug complements the color scheme, and the furniture, artwork and lamps were carefully selected to complete the look.[[In-content Ad]]
