Posted online
Workshop reservations for individuals who want to learn more about estate planning are due today, according to a news release from the University of Missouri extension office, which is offering an estate planning workshop next week.

The workshop, which will focus on estate planning for individual, family and community futures, begins at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 14 in the first-floor classroom at the extension’s Springfield office, 833 Boonville Ave.

Seating is limited; reservations are necessary and are available by calling the extension office at (417) 862-9284. A $15 fee will be charged for the program, and it includes a 30-minute follow-up session the next day.

Follow-up visits with the presenters will be scheduled for Jan. 15 at the end of the session, according to Byron Morrison, 4-H youth development specialist with the extension and workshop organizer.

Presenters for the two-hour session are attorneys volunteering their time as members of the Missouri 4-H Foundation.

Workshop topics will include wills and trusts, nonprobate transfers, durable power of attorney for property and health care, retirement plans, protections of assets, avoidance of estate taxes, wealth and asset replenishment and charitable asset transfer.[[In-content Ad]]
