Security researchers found more than 540 million Facebook users records on public storage servers.
Security firm UpGuard found exposed data onn a storage server without a password operated by Mexico-based digital media company Cultura Colectiva. They also found data, such as scraped information on more than 22,000 users, on a separate storage server by defunct California-based app maker At The Pool.
“Facebook’s policies prohibit storing Facebook information in a public database,” a Facebook spokesperson said, noting the company would investigate the issue.
