Republicans prepared to fight Obama's immigration plan

Posted online
Republican lawmakers on Capitol Hill are willing to do whatever it takes to prevent President Barack Obama from signing an executive order that would make it illegal to deport millions of undocumented immigrants, according to Fox News.

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, said in an op-ed on Politico that the Republican majority in the Senate should vow to fight all of the president’s appointments if amnesty is given and for as long as it persists. Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., even suggested there could be violence in the streets should Obama execute the order. A spokesman for Republican House Speaker John Boehner referred to the president as “Emperor Obama” for what he sees as an overreach of his constitutional authority.

Republican retaliations include a possible lawsuit to stop the president or gumming up appropriations directly or indirectly tied to the action.
