The five-year leader of the Republic Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has exited the role, and an interim chair has been appointed.
Britny Fulks submitted her resignation as board chair on April 23, said Macy Mitchell, executive director of the Republic chamber. Josh Troester, who works as lead pastor at Live Church in Republic, started April 24 as interim board chair, Mitchell said.
In an email this morning, Fulks cited "personal reasons" for her resignation after five years as board chair. Fulks is additionally a senior vice president and loan officer at Mid-Missouri Bank.
"I enjoyed my time serving on the board over this time and watching the chamber grow into what it is today," she said. "I believe that the current board members will continue to do great work for the Republic business community."
Mitchell said the Republic chamber board would vote from a list of nominees in October, with a new elected chair to start in January.
The Republic chamber ranked No. 5 on Springfield Business Journal's list this year of the area's largest chambers of commerce, with 400 members as of Jan. 20.
