Research by The New York Times found the United States on Wednesday set the fifth single-day COVID-19 case record in eight days.
Yesterday, 49,932 new coronavirus cases were reported, according to a database set up by The New York Times.
Among states with new single-day records, Texas reported more than 8,000 infections yesterday.
