The Conference Board's consumer confidence index had its fourth straight monthly decrease in March.
The March index dropped by 7.2 points to 92.9, the lowest reading since January 2021.
Americans’ short-term expectations for income, business and the job market dropped 9.6 points to 65.2, according to The Associated Press. That's the lowest level in 12 years.
