Electric vehicle producer Tesla plans to purchase German ATW Automation, a battery assembly maker, a source familiar with the matter told Reuters.
A subsidiary of Canadian ATS Automation Tooling Systems Inc., ATW has had a slump in orders, bringing it close to liquidation.
ATW has completed more than 20 battery production lines for international automakers.
