Report: SunEdison to file for bankruptcy

Maryland Heights-based solar energy company SunEdison is preparing to file for bankruptcy, a person familiar with the matter told Reuters.

The news come nine months after the company was valued at $10 billion.

As of Friday, the company's market value was $117 million. Its debt load was $12 billion as of Sept. 30.

Last week, the company revealed in a filing it was in talks for possible debtor-in-possession financing.

A SunEdison spokesman declined to comment.
