Sprint Corp. and T-Mobile US Inc. are once again exploring a merger, people familiar with the matter told The Wall Street Journal.
The discussions come five months after previous merger talks ended over who would control the combined company.
Sprint stock rose by as much as 18 percent on the news, while T-Mobile stock was up 7 percent.
