OpenAI is in early talks to give a 5% stake to the U.S. government, people familiar with the matter told the Financial Times.
The proposal would involve other AI companies giving a stake to the federal government, but it's unclear if they're on board.
According to the report, OpenAI is looking to improve relations with President Donald Trump's administration.
