Major League Baseball owners gave the green light to a plan that would start the season in July, a source familiar with the matter told The Associated Press.
The source said MLB is making a proposal to the players' union to launch on the Fourth of July weekend in ballparks without fans.
Under the proposal, each team would play roughly 82 regular season games.
