The Missouri Independent reports the state's COVID-19 dashboard is missing some 80,000 cases and 1,000 deaths that have been confirmed on the local level.
According to the report, the discrepancy lies in local reports including “probable” cases identified by common antigen tests. The state does not include those cases, but the Department of Health and Senior Services reportedly is considering a change.
“It is a thing that has been discussed and talked about since May and June on a regular basis," said Nathan Koffarnus, an epidemiologist with the department.
