Report: Michigan to pay $600M to settle Flint water crisis

Posted online

The state of Michigan is expected to announce a $600 million settlement over the Flint water crisis, a source familiar with the matter told The Wall Street Journal.

The settlement would resolve claims related to lead-tainted drinking water that struck the city of Flint in 2015. The city has nearly 100,000 residents.

The issues in Flint were blamed on a state decision to switch the city's water source as a cost-saving measure.
