Arkhouse Management and Brigade Capital Management have entered an offer to acquire Macy's, people familiar with the matter told CNBC.
The proposed deal is valued at $5.8 billion, the sources said.
The offer of $21 per share is above Macy's Friday closing price of $17, according to the report.
