Kroger is reportedly conducting a round of layoffs.
A source familiar with the matter said fewer than 1,000 corporate employees are impacted.
"In the past few months, we have all looked for ways to simplify the organization, shift resources closer to our customers and focus on work that creates the most value," said Ron Sargent, Kroger's interim CEO, in an internal memo cited by Reuters.
