The owners of the Kansas City Current soccer team are considering a WNBA franchise, according to media reports.
ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter reported on X that the ownership group, which includes Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, met with the WNBA and is in contention to bring the league's next franchise team to Kansas City.
Over the next two seasons, the WNBA plans to expand by three cities to 15 teams.
