Media reports indicate Kansas City-area company Yellow Corp. received a $700 million pandemic assistance loan from the federal government despite objections from career officials at the Defense Department.
Overland Park, Kansas-based trucking company Yellow received the funds with help from corporate lobbyists and former top White House officials, including Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and Defense Secretary Mark Esper, according to the reports.
A U.S. House subcommittee is probing the incident.
