Intel is planning to lay off 15% to 20% of its factory workers, according to reporting by The Oregonian/OregonLive.
In an email viewed by the publication, Intel manufacturing Vice President Naga Chandrasekaran said the planned layoffs are "essential to meet our affordability challenges and current financial position of the company."
While Intel announced pending layoffs in April, the scope of the cuts had not yet been disclosed.
